Tomáš Janda has been around horses and horse-racing since a very early age.
He graduated of the Czech Agricultural University in Prague in 2006, having specialised in Animal Production and having defended his diploma thesis “The Possibilities of Using Today’s Thoroughbred Sires by Tried and Proven Blood Combinations”. A year before, he successfully completed an extra-mural study at the Horse Racing School in Velká Chuchle.
While still an undergraduate, he was working as the secretary of the Czech Jockey Club, gaining invaluable experience in the Napajedla stud, leading horse-racing stables and later in Coolmore, Ireland, where he stayed for two lengthier internships. Besides that, he spent one season in the Irish subsidiary of Aga Khan Studs.
During his stays abroad, he has gained experience in wide spectrum of horse-related activities, from foaling to working with mares and foals, working with yearlings, mares, stallions, etc. and also preparation of foals and yearlings for sales or training.
Besides his job as a bloodstock agent he regularly contributes to professional media. He was a regular columnist for Turf Magazín, now publishes at tiparuvpalec.cz and galopp-reporter.cz online. He is also member of the board and also secretary of Czech owners and breeders association.
He has been engaged in the purchases of many successful stallions and broodmares for studs not in just the Czech Republic, but also in France or Germany and other countries. He bought many champions and classic winners mainly in Central Europe but also in other countries.
Today, the Janda Bloodstock brand, which had major achievements right at the start of its business, a well-established prestigious brand, a guarantee of expert approach, fairness and trustworthiness. This is proved by the fact that many clients have partnered Janda Bloodstock on the regular basis and virtually from the very start of their engagement in racing.
Tomáš Janda is the only person in the Czech Republic to organize horse sales in the Czech Republic: Central European Thoroughbred Sale (jointly with Dostihový spolek Pardubice) took place seven times and Tomáš Janda organized also a sale for the National Stud in Kladruby.
